To Ma'am Rossel Audencial ... Your poem "sacrifice" reminds me of a story in the bible where Abraham was told to sacrifice his son, Isaac, to God. To be killed and burn up on a mountain (correct me if I'm wrong). A great reference for a poem especially on how someone willingly surrender a treasured being to someone he obey, indeed, an act of great sacrifice. I love how the stanzas showed the scenarios I am expecting to consume, it didn't failed to make me feel the fire burning especially on the last stanza—napapigil hininga po ako, buti naalala ko na need ko pala mag-breath. Thank you for your piece, Ma'am.
"... but always have a rest in the restless night for your restless soul." Ang sarap basahin ng tula ni sir Rogelio Jenson Jr. na Midnight Pyre. Banayad na dumadaloy sa lalamunan ang likidong mapait na naging matamis kalaunan in menthol flavor. It's very poetic for me, with words new to me, pero madaling maunawan. Ang ganda ng storytelling, like a roller coaster with only one steep, gusto kong balik-balikan. A motivational poem I highly recommend to those who feel burdened and stressed. Sa gitna ng kadiliman ng gabi, may naghihintay na liwanag ng umaga.

I love the idea that tho we didn't understood or maybe we will never understand the chasing, we still choose to run on that rocky road flavored ice cream. Kahit mahirap, magpapatuloy dahil alam nating may reward sa dulo. Ang ganda rin ng rhyming scheme ng "Of Ashes, Guns, and Powder" mo that added flavor to how engaging the whole poem is. Dili sum-od.
